Legendary pitmaster Rodney Scott is returning to Harpoon Harry for encore BBQ (Sydney)

Popular demand has lured world renowned BBQ pitmaster Rodney Scott back to Sydney’s Harpoon Harry for a one-day-only BBQ residency before he heads back to South Carolina. Scott, a master of the low-and-slow BBQ who a earlier this year teamed with resident HH Chef Morgan McGlone for a hugely popular two-day feast, jumped at the opportunity to head on back to the Surry Hills venue, seeing as the original event attracted queues that snaked around the block.

“I was down in Adelaide for a BBQ festival and when presented with the opportunity to come back to Harry’s, I just couldn’t resist”, said Scott, who will once again be firing up a traditional whole hog BBQ cooked over coals for 24 hours to show Sydney how it’s down back in the southern states. He’ll be taking over the venue’s street-level Public Bar alongside McGlone, offering up a menu on Wednesday 13th July (until sold out) that can be washed down with a good ol’ fashioned Moonshine Shake.

The menu includes Scott’s B-B-Q Plate ($25) which comes packed with Rodney’s pulled pork, pork cracklings, devil’s white bread, Carolina coleslaw, and pimento mac & cheese. A dessert of Fried Apple Pie ($12) served with cinnamon ice cream is available to finish it all off.

Seeing as queues were so deep last time, this time Harpoon Harry will be offering up VIP Meet & Greet packages with bookings, set at $60 per person and coming with 3 courses in McGlone’s excellent upstairs Dining Room, plus skins and wings with the BBQ plate, a fried apple pie, and a maple-infused Old Fashioned. Though only 50 spaces will be made available.

Bookings for the Meet & Greet packages can be made by visiting HERE or emailing [email protected]
