Fratelli Fresh will expand to Melbourne plus open numerous U.S style pizzerias in each state

Following their recent move to Urban Purveyor Group, renowned Italian restaurant group Fratelli Fresh will make a very welcome expansion to Melbourne later this year, opening a restaurant on the ground floor of The Alfred precinct when it is unveiled next month.

Fratelli @ The Alfred will mark the first interstate jump for the celebrated Sydney chain, bringing a sixth member into the family with a full-service pizza and pasta restaurant that maintains a focus on family-friendly dining and exceptional Italian cuisine. It will also be the first in a very ambitious plan to expand the Fratelli brand even further, with Urban Purveyor Group planning to roll out 10-20 Fratelli Fresh venues per state, plus several of the group’s flagship premium counterparts, and 30-40 Fratelli pizzerias in each state. Talk about building an empire! A delicious empire!

The pizzerias will be small format and gourmet, taking inspiration from the iconic pizza bars of the U.S with individual artisan-style pizzas featuring freshly made, hand-tossed dough, signature sauces, and myriad topping combos. A rainbow of house-made gelato and several Italian-style craft beers by Urban Brewing Co. will be other major drawcards for these numerous pizzerias.

That’s not all the Fratelli Family have up their sleeves though. They’ll be welcoming their new concept casual-premium restaurant when it opens up in Sydney’s Grosvenor Place precinct in September of this year. Urban Purveyor Group originally planned this to be called Stella Ristorante & Terrazzo but it seems the opportunity to expand on Fratelli Fresh proved too good to resist. This will be a larger restaurant than its more causal counterparts, featuring an extended menu that includes Fratelli classics, wood-fired pizzas, house-made pastas, and a larger selection of premium meats and high quality, wood-fired seafood cooked in accordance with Italian traditions.

Fratelli @ The Alfred (Melbourne) will be located at 7 Alfred Place.
