Harbord Hotel has re-opened this summer

For nearly over a century, Freshwater locals and visitors flocked to the iconic Harbord Beach Hotel. Now the venue has been reborn a fresh new look and additional dining experiences, opening doors as Harbord Hotel for one of the biggest openings Sydney will see this year. With an expansive main bar, a sun-soaked terrace and outdoor bar and a new restaurant with a cocktail bar, Balsa, the Harbord Hotel will be your new favourite beach hangout joint.

“It has been an incredible first month since swinging open the doors to this special venue. Harbord Hotel has always been so much more than a pub, it is an extension of the area and a second home to many, so it is truly amazing to see our community enjoying it again,” says new co-owner Glenn Piper.

Taking inspiration from Freshwater’s history, the venue’s aesthetic takes on coastal chic, designed in collaboration with design studio, Alexander & Co. Located minutes away from Freshwater Beach, guests can hang their boards on the surfboard rack out front and enjoy soaking in the sun with a fresh plate of food.

On the menu, Head Chef Adam Rust takes on modern and classic Australian dishes. Diners can expect an abundance of delectable plates such as their Prawn Cocktail With North Queensland Tiger Prawns, Marie Rose Sauce with Cos and Lemon. Bite on some tasty Potato Scallops with Wakame-Vinegar, Salt and Aioli or order their classic Steak and Chips, with 250g Grain-Fed Rump and Fried Egg.

Vegetarians can revel in a Green Bowl With Broccolini, Avocado, Kale, Quinoa, Green Goddess Dressing. Whilst non-vegetarians have the option to add Wood-Fired Salmon Or Rotisserie Chicken, and a range of Wood-Fired Flatbreads including Heirloom Tomato, Zucchini Flower and Ricotta, Spiced Prawn and Prosciutto.

A coffee cart and breakfast menu is available from 7am each day, with dishes such as Chia Bowl with Roasted Peach and Coconut Yoghurt, and Charred Sourdough with Avocado, Blistered Cherry Tomatoes, Feta And Basil.

On the drinks front, Margarita cocktails are available and served with Chilli Salt smoked in the wood-fire. Coastal wines and Aussie beers are on offer alongside a selection of non-alcoholic beverages.

Free entertainment and live music will be available with local Northern Beaches talent including Shag Rock, Aodhan and Great Gable and plenty more.

Harbord Hotel is now open. Balsa will officially open in the coming weeks. For more information, head on over to Harbord Hotel
