Sydney lockdown be damned: ChefPrep lets us try our favourite restaurants from afar

Sydney being in lockdown doesn’t mean locals can’t experience their favourite restaurants. In the past few weeks the state has already seen the launch of Melbourne-born service Providoor as well as a healthy selection of Sydney lockdown takeaway options. One new service adding greatly to that is ChefPrep, a new online marketplace that has partnered with various Sydney favourites to delivery chef-prepared, ready-to-heat meals across the state.

Anyone who has been thinking of ways to support their favourite local restaurants during restrictions can simply jump on ChefPrep and order frozen ready-made meals from Sydney favourites like Deli ‘O’ Delhi and I Maccheroni, at an affordable price.

The new service is still in its infancy, with room for ChefPrep’s restaurant partners to upscale their individual offerings. This means we’ll soon be seeing wine and alcohol pop up on the platform, as well as pantry goods, baked goods, and anything else each restaurant chooses to offer for delivery.

I don’t have to tell you how important something like this is for keeping our favourites thriving throughout the current Sydney lockdown. Restaurants on ChefPrep so far include aforementioned favourites like Delhi O Delhi and I Maccheroni, as well as Little Lagos, STIX, Huxton’s At Bronte, Mordeo, Albi’s Taverna, De Vine Food & Wine, and Bellevue Cottage.

Expected to join the platform soon: Butter Sydney, LODE Surry Hills, Foodie del Mar, Bondi Hardware, Casa Mia Osteria, Long Chim, Olio, and more.

It’s an especially valuable service for those that live far from these restaurants. I live in Greystanes, as an example, and was able to get some signatures from Delhi O Delhi, and pasta from I Maccheroni, delivered in a matter of days. Once they arrive, the restaurant-quality meals just require heating or minimal finishing, or they can be stacked in the freezer for up to 6 months.

ChefPrep delivery currently services Sydney Metro, Central Coast, Newcastle, Blue Mountains, and Wollongong Coast. Find out more (and get 20% off your first order!) by visiting their website HERE.
