Cadbury celebrate Australian Olympic Team with limited edition Lamington and Apple Crumble flavours

In the lead up to the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, confectionary giant Cadbury has decided to celebrate its proud partnership with the Australian Olympic team in the sweetest way possible, by releasing two limited edition quintessentially Australian flavoured family blocks of their signature milk chocolate. The move not only boosts support for the team (fitting aptly alongside the company’s ‘moments of joy’ motto) but also serves as a call to unite another host of fans sporting their version of green and gold, Brazil.

As such, limited edition flavour Apple Crumble – Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate combined with oatmeal crumble and apple jelly pieces has been developed to symbolise the same green and gold colours which represent Australia’s sporting spirit. Second limited edition flavour Lamington – Cadbury Dairy Milk chocolate injected with raspberry jam, vanilla cake flavoured pieces and coconut, has been chosen for its iconic association as a much loved Aussie treat, commonly appearing in the odd school fete or bake sale.

The occasion was celebrated with a morning tea at the head offices of the Australian Olympic Committee at the Museum of Contemporary Art near Circular Quay. The essence of each flavour was captured in a range of delicious baked goods including Lamnuts, lamington coated donuts, cupcake and creative milkshake versions of both flavours as well as tastings of the new chocolate blocks and matching teas from T2.

Guests were invited to get into the team spirit by voting for their favourite flavour using hashtags #teamlamington or #teamapplecrumble as well as donning a whole bunch of patriotic and hilariously ridiculous props for Cadbury’s photo booth. The general public also have a chance to express their olympic passion via a special competition which will send four lucky winners off to Rio as Cadbury’s ‘Joy Ambassadors’. To win Australians are asked to submit a video or photo showing how they would convince Brazil to join forces with Australian fans and unite green and gold. We are excited to see special edition products, and know that they will be enjoyed by all Australians while they cheer on the Team”.
