Keegan Calmes’ latest single “Broken Heart” is still lingering in our ears. Known for for his work with Vinyl Theatre and signed by Fueled by Ramen, the talented singer and songwriter has made a comeback as a solo artist.
Growing up with inspiration from John Mayer, The Killers, & Two Door Cinema Club, Calmes has emerged with a new perspective and a fresh sound that encapsulates the essence of what is important to him.
The track displays honest and raw emotions echoed by a melodic piano tune. While the slow guitar keys build up with soulful beats, the lyrics hit hard with a deep sentiment of lost love.
“Broken Heart” is a culmination of a year of soul searching; Trying to pinpoint who I am and what is most important to me intrinsically. This is that ‘aha’ moment for me in trying to both define my sound and work through past emotions. It’s a song about loving someone after your love as ‘one’ has expired. And in that lingering love, you decide to always wish them the best. And when you see them again, to smile with love although your love together will never be again.”
