Even more recently Jade has been on tour throughout the United States, supporting Irish singer-songwriter Hozier, and is also confirmed to perform at several US festivals, including Hangout Fest later this month, and the iconic Newport Folk Festival in July. April also saw Jade release her self-titled debut album, via Glassnote Records, to great reviews both in the UK and the US.

Whilst on the road with Hozier, Jade kept a tour diary and is kindly letting us share part of it with us. Read on for a glimpse behind the scenes of a day in the life of Jade as she traversed the United States earlier this year…

So I am on tour with Hozier at the moment and am driving from city to city in the US. I’m not sure what I’m doing here but this me in the car!

When we get to the venue I usually hang out, listen to music and if I have time I will try and write a new song…there is some bad ironing done too…occasionally

There have been some amazing venues on this tour so far and this is my sound checking and getting ready for the gig. Its amazing to look out at this view!

After soundcheck, I have some food and get ready for the show. My routine includes warming up my voice…its a steamer Grandma don’t worry

The audiences on this tour have been absolutely incredible when I finished my set in Buffalo they stood up for me and it made me cry!!!!!!! I can’t quite believe it happened.

Jade Bird’s self-titled debut album is available now through Glassnote Records. Be sure to chuck Jade a like of a follow across on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
