The Strokes are returning to Australia in February 2027, announcing headline shows in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney as part of their Reality Awaits Australia 2027 tour.
It will be the New York indie-rock icons’ first Australian headline tour since their sold-out run in 2022, following their return last year to headline Harvest Rock in Adelaide.
We caught The Strokes at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion in 2022, where they delivered a wonderfully fan-friendly set packed with the songs everyone wanted to hear. It was a timely reminder that, decades into their career, few bands can roll out a run of indie-rock classics quite like The Strokes.
For their 2027 return, they’ll be joined in Brisbane and Melbourne by Courtney Barnett and Promiseland. Courtney is a much-loved artist here at the AU review and, quite frankly, we can never get enough of her.
The tour kicks off at Brisbane Entertainment Centre on 13 February before heading to Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena for two nights on 16 and 17 February.
Sydney gets something a little different, with The Strokes set to headline the inaugural Sydney Summertime at Centennial Park on Saturday, 20 February.
The new outdoor concert series launches with a particularly impressive bill, with Beck joining The Strokes, Courtney Barnett and Promiseland. Beck is, of course, all class, a forever legend whose presence makes an already stacked line-up even more appealing.
Sydney Summertime is being billed as a new series of standalone outdoor concerts bringing major international and Australian artists to Centennial Park. We’ll have more on the broader series separately, but as opening statements go, this is a very strong one.
The Australian dates arrive as The Strokes continue their Reality Awaits era, with the band touring behind their seventh studio album.

Artist, Mastercard and Vodafone presales begin at 9am on Monday, 28 September, running until 12pm on Tuesday, 29 September.
The Secret Sounds and Live Nation presales start at 12pm on Monday, 28 September, also finishing at 12pm on Tuesday, 29 September.
Tickets then go on sale to the general public at 1pm on Tuesday, 29 September.
