After selling out their six-date Australian tour in 2025, The Fray are wasting little time coming back, announcing a major Australian and New Zealand run for February 2027.
The Summer of Light Tour will take in a mix of headline arena shows and outdoor dates, with Dashboard Confessional, Bastille, Killing Heidi, Little Birdy and Rachael Fahim joining across various stops. That’s a mighty impressive mix of bands.
For the indoor leg, The Fray will be joined by longtime friends Dashboard Confessional and Australian country-pop artist Rachael Fahim, kicking off at Melbourne’s Margaret Court Arena on the 5th of February. Wollongong follows on 10 February, where The Fray and Fahim will perform at Waves, before the full indoor bill heads to Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion and Auckland’s Eventfinda.
Things get even bigger outdoors, with The Fray headlining the next edition of the Lookout Festival alongside British indie-pop favourites Bastille and Dashboard Confessional. Killing Heidi and Little Birdy complete the bill, with Killing Heidi appearing at all Lookout dates except Perth. Stops include Torquay, Perth, Lake Macquarie and Sandstone Point.
This is a great opportunity to hear tracks from their recently released album, A Light That Waits, their first full-length collection of new material in more than a decade, and their first as the current core trio of Joe King, Dave Welsh and Ben Wysocki.
Joe King says the reception the band received here last time made returning an easy decision:
