Stumbled Upon #012 – Love Cream (Adelaide)

In our 12th instalment of “Stumbled Upon”, we meet Adelaide’s Love Cream, winners of the Australian final of the 2014 Emergenza international band contest and chat about just where their name came from (it appears to be more innocent than you would think) and get a sneak peak at their debut album, First Taste .

Band Name:
The year is 2011, the setting is home economics class. Gallo and Nick are making muffins when Nick reaches into the fridge to for some cream.
“I love cream!” exclaimed Gallo.
“Lol, let’s make a band and call it Love Cream.” replied Nick.
“No. That’s silly.”

Like the muffins in the un-greased baking tray, the name stuck.

3 years, an album and countless gigs later, we find ourselves representing the nation in Germany as Love Cream

Genre:
Rock

Members & their roles:
Vinnie Dynamo – Lead Vocals
Nick Robinson – Lead Guitar
Mick Gallo – Lead Drums
Marcel Tiggemann – Lead Bass
Jimmy Robinson – Lead Rhythm Guitar

What music or artists inspired you?
Obviously we take a lot of inspiration from the classic rock of the 70s and 80s, so naturally our heroes are the likes of KISS, Van Halen, Aerosmith, The Stones, a bit of Zep but we also love some of the more recent proponents of the genre like The Darkness, Electric Six and Ke$ha.

How did you/the band get started?
Basically we were just a few mates who shared a mutual love of rock and clean eating. Nick, our guitarist was really the only one of us who was a decent musician. We wrote our first rock classics, and the rest is history.

How would you best describe your live show:
A good time.

Tell us about your latest release:
Well we’ve just put on the finishing touches in the editing room to our first ever music video to our song ‘Spend the Night Together’ which was released just before Christmas.

Where can I get your music?
Bandcamp is your best bet, but our debut album, ‘First Taste’, is also on iTunes and Spotify.

As winners of Emergenza the boys will represent Australia in Germany, competing against the global finalists on stage at the 30,000 person Taubertal Open-air Festival in August, 2015.
