Melbourne alt-pop duo Folia have been serving up melodic pop tracks since late 2016. Their debut “Without You” drew comparisons to London Grammar and The xx, with a dreamy indie sound and raw, emotional vocals. The new track, “Heart Beat” examines the heartbreaking unexpected loss of a loved one, and the pain and confusion that comes with it.
The song showcases vocalist Claire, with ambient harmonies taking centre stage. It’s hard not to get emotional from the way Folia delivers chilling lyrics, despite the duo not experiencing this level of grief before.
