We’re welcoming in April by adding ten more new tracks to our Discovery playlist on Spotify and Apple Music; including two singles we exclusively premiered this week.
Our Track of the Week goes to Northern Irish singer-songwriter ROE and her new single “I Dare You” which dropped yesterday. It’s her first single of 2022, and looks to build on her 2021 success with the playlisting of her single “Cruel” and a fruitful collaboration with fellow Northern Irish songwriter Ciaran Lavery. “I Dare You” is yet another strong release from the AU favourite; with a big chorus, some delightful trumpet flourishes and another fantastic vocal performance.
Also joining ROE on the playlist this week is Majority V, the self-described “cheeky pop bestie band” that crosses continents. “Nothing Sweeter” is the duo’s first single of 2022, and is a whole lot of fun. It’s big, bold, energetic and guaranteed to prolong those summer party vibes. We also have “Setting Sun”, the new single from French-Peruvian duo Las Bambas, which also helps keep the good vibes going.
Hollie Col released “Julia”, the final piece in her epic Julia Stevens love story. Do chase down the other singles in this series, they are truly outstanding. The fabulously named punk rock Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers have dropped the ripping “Girl Sports”, a song that was written in response to the male dentist who suggested that their bassist, Jaida Stephenson should stick to “girl sports” after knocking her teeth out skating.
UK indie-rockers Sports Team are back with some fresh music. Their new single “R Entertainment” is off their upcoming second album, Gulp! which will be released on 22nd July.
Sydney based indie-duo EGOISM have released a poignant and hopeful track, “For Ages” about the importance of having conversations about mental health.
To round out the week, we also have two premieres, “Elevator to the Sky” from Gold-Coast duo GENIIE BOY and “Anxiety” from Brisbane’s Dusty.
