New Music Discoveries 10th April: Lucky, Evie Williams, Lykke Li, and more

Lucky

We’ve added ten new tracks to our Discovery Playlist on Apple Music and Spotify this week, including three premieres (one carried over from last week). Leading the charge is our Track of the Week, Lucky with “Perfect Pain”.

Taken from her debut EP Biting Heels which is also released today, “Perfect Pain” is a quietly devastating standout — all hazy guitars and intimate, unguarded lyricism that feels both deeply personal and instantly relatable. It sits at the emotional core of the nine-track release, which also features earlier singles “Lady Beetle”, “Adored”, “Clover” and the title track. As Lucky explains, Biting Heels is a long time coming — a body of work that pulls together her varied sonic influences while marking an “official introduction to the world”. There’s a sense of reflection and quiet confidence throughout, particularly on the title track, which became the project’s anchor — exploring comfort zones, growth, and the uncertainty of stepping into something new.

Lucky is currently supporting MAY-A on her national tour, and kicks off her own solo tour in June, visiting Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide. Head HERE for all the details.

Evie Williams returns with “What’s A Girl To Do?”, a delicate, slow-burning pop-folk offering that traces the quiet unraveling of a relationship with striking emotional clarity. Built on twangy guitars, soft strings and her unmistakably dulcet vocals, the track captures that liminal space where you know something is over — even if the words haven’t yet been spoken, with Williams drawing on her own experience of navigating uncertainty and loss in a first serious relationship; the result is a tender, dreamlike piece that moves gently from heartbreak toward acceptance. This is one that will resonate with many.

“Sick of Love” is the latest single from The Afterparty, the forthcoming new album from Sweden’s Lykke Li – out May 8th. The song is the soundtrack to the comedown that follows the euphoric highs of the night before; subdued, hazy though uplifting, the track  in many ways works as a bit of a counterpoint to fellow album track “Lucky Again”. The single comes ahead of her Coachella performance this weekend and the start of her 2026 tour.

Also added to the playlist this week is the fresh collaboration between American musician SASAMI and Melbourne’s own Angie McMahon reworking of album single “Honeycrash”. The track is from the expanded version of SASAMI’s 2025 album Blood On The Silver Screen, which features a range of remixes and reimagining by friends and collaborators. “Honeycrash (Angie McMahon Cut)” sees McMahon bringing added emotional heft to the track and trading vocals with SASAMI. The end result is simply gorgeous; with some truly stunning vocals from the pair. Atmospheric and emotive, this one soars!

“Two Hands” is the new single from WA’s Pond and the latest to be released from their new album Terrestrials – out June 19th. The song is about the destruction of the Juukun Gorge, a site of cultural and spiritual significance to local Indigenous communities, by Rio Tinto. As Nicholas Allbrook explains; ‘Its a little word of encouragement that you’ve got every right to be very fucking angry about this injustice.’ There’s a bit of a nod to the likes of The Triffids, The Church and others; but it remains quintessentially Pond. The band are about to head out on a string of dates across the US, both as headliners and supporting Djo – but first you can catch them at Brisbane’s Against the Grain Festival in June. For more info and tour dates head to their website.

Finally, this week we also have new singles from the SF Wrens, heirs presumptive to The Cat Empire (& WA’s Brow Horn Orchestra), with their funky sophomore release “The Finish Line” and “Crazy Days” from Melbourne stalwarts The Remotes. And then joining them are premieres from Hannah Potter (“Snow Day”),  Adam Gaffney (“Come on Back For Good”) and Anna Jeavons (“Smart Casual”).
