Music Video of the Day: The Smith Street Band “Shine” (2017)

If you’ve been living under a rock, you may have missed the fact that The Smith Street Band are killing it at the moment. The four piece from Footscray are right smack bang in the middle of their Australian tour for their latest album, More Scared of You Than You Are of Me, which is arguably one of the best records to be released this year. It’s as though Wil Wagner and his incredible band have decided to go big or go home, and with the help of Paul Drane, the guys have absolutely produced the goods for their latest video clip for “Shine”.

Jumping on the back of a flatbed truck, the boys pay homage to the iconic AC/DC clip for “It’s A Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘n’ Roll)”, with a classic Smithies spin of course.

Just like everything coming from the band as of late, the clip is a phenomenal piece of work, and really adds to the the larger-than-life element that runs through the entire record – and particularly in “Shine”. Check it out!

The Smith Street Band are currently touring Australia. For all the details head to their official website.
