One of the reasons why the Mundi Mundi Bash is so popular is due in part to the sense of community and camaraderie on show. This year, the Bush Choir and the Mundi Undi Run raised some $150,ooo for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
This year, some 1,600 festival-goers joined the fun and raced the loop. The attire ranged from straight out boxer briefs to costumes with a barely tenuous link to undies. Star Wars characters, Scooby Doo, a caterpillar and much more. The fastest three male and female runners were given prizes, while the judges had a difficult time viewing the broad variety of entries.
Even the RFDS themselves entered a team:
The best individual dressed up winner was a 73 year old ‘angel’ who still knows how to rock it.
This was all done in a morning, with the rest of the day filled with music still to go. With the rain clearing up, it was announced that those that had missed out on the event could still come along and park in day parking and join in the celebrations for free (on top of their pending refunds). With the additional concerts at the Palace in Broken Hill, there was a sense of trying to bring people together.
