Laneway Festival is officially 21, and if the newly announced lineup is anything to go by, the AUS/NZ touring festival is entering 2026 with its most stacked edition yet.
While countless other summer festivals have disappeared from rotation due to industry and financial pressures, Laneway continues to thrive as one of Australia’s most enduring and taste-making live music gatherings. After a huge 2025 instalment (and one of the most impressive lineups in years), 2026 arrives with even more: 35% more artists, a brand-new East Coast stage, and a stunning selection of acts to match the hype.
Chappell Roan finally makes her Laneway headline debut, bringing her full gothic fairytale pop spectacle to the main stage for a 90-minute full set. Expect perfect makeup, costume changes, and a whole lot of queer anthems. Wolf Alice returns for an exclusive appearance, alongside Laneway-only sets from PinkPantheress, Wet Leg, and Role Model.
There’s also a rare joint set from Yung Lean & Bladee, plus a run of high-profile appearances from Lucy Dacus, Alex G, BENEE, Cavetown, Mt. Joy, and dancefloor disruptor The Dare.
Geese, the Brooklyn indie experimentalists fronted by Cameron Winter, have quietly become a live favourite overseas and are a surprise addition that will likely draw the heads, while other quiet highlights include French producer Oklou and the heartfelt-grunge storytelling of Jensen McRae.
True to form, the lineup is full of names you’ll be bragging about seeing first, from rising stars Malcolm Todd, Wisp, and Gigi Perez, to a homegrown cohort of Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers, Blusher, Shady Nasty, Armlock, The Belair Lip Bombs, and Djanaba.
