Jeremy Neale wins Song of the Year at the 2018 Queensland Music Awards

It was Queensland music’s night of nights overnight, with the 2018 Queensland Music Awards taking place at the Royal International Convention Centre at the Brisbane Showgrounds. A sold out event this year, the QMA’s saw Jeremy Neale take Song of the Year for “Dancin’ & Romancin'”, while The Jungle Giants‘ Quiet Ferocity was named Album of the Year.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Amy Shark continued her winning streak, taking home awards in the Pop, Regional and Singer Songwriter categories, as well as being celebrated for having the Highest Selling Single by a Queenslander for 2017’s “Adore”, a single which also saw Shark be given the Export Achievement Award.

WAAX took home Video of the Year for “Same Same”, while Greta Stanley was named recipient of the 2018 Billy Thorpe Scholarship. The $10,000 prize has been provided by Arts Queensland and will go towards Greta’s next record. Chad Morgan was awarded the Grant McLennan Lifetime Achievement award, acknowledging what has been a stellar career spanning six decades.
