Australia’s beloved heavy and alternative music festival, Good Things, is locked in and confirmed for early December in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. This year will also see the Sydney venue upgraded to the Sydney Showgrounds due to overwhelming demand in previous years. With the official lineup being announced on August 12th, fans are speculating hard at who might be making an appearance- here are our predictions!
At the moment, all signs point towards Linkin Park. With their “From Zero” world tour underway and some heavy hints being dropped on social media, its all but confirmed that they’ll be heading Down Under soon. With their recent reinvention it’s a golden fit for a big ticket closing slot.

With their latest record, Motel Du Cap, out this Friday, Good Charlotte appear poised for for a comeback tour. Throw in their long-standing pop-punk legacy and heavy rotation on nostalgia-driven lineups, and they’re a decent bet for Good Things.

Having recently celebrated 20 years of their album Futures, Jimmy Eat World are strong contenders for this years lineup. Though they toured here in 2023 with My Chemical Romance, it certainly feels as though they’re due for an Aussie appearance soon.
The enigmatic Sleep Token are currently selling out arenas on their “Even In Arcadia” tour, due to run until October 2025. Their masked, genre-blurring live show fits the heavier vision of Good Things, and fans are feeling confident that they’ll be taking to the main stage at this years festival.
Turnstile’s latest album NEVER ENOUGH dropped this June, and they’re in heavy demand throughout Europe and North America, with Aussie fans crossing their fingers and toes for tour dates soon. Fans have pointed to their festival-friendly energy and headline pedigree as a strong fit for Good Things’ later time slots.
It certainly hasn’t gone unnoticed that TOOL are playing Japan just days after Good Things wraps up, making them a huge contender for a headlining slot. Whether we can expect to see them headline the festival or not, Aussie tour dates will surely be announced soon.
Despite headlining here in 2023, My Chemical Romance are touring globally in 2025 for their “Long Live The Black Parade” tour, yet no Aussie dates have been confirmed so far. We can’t help but notice a sizeable gap in their touring schedule- could Good Things be on the cards?
Previous Good Things lineups have successfully merged legacy acts with current innovators- like last year’s lineup which saw Electric Callboy and Korn headline. The strategy of securing both big-name headliners and emerging stars is expected again in 2025, making some, but maybe not all, of the above six bands plausible.
The official lineup drops at 10am on August 12, with tickets going on sale soon after. To keep up to date with announcements and on-sale times, head to the Good Things website HERE.
