Inhaler have shared another glimpse of their upcoming album Open Wide with the release of a new single, “A Question Of You” and a suite of new Australian live dates for June. Though the tour might seem far away for now, we’re being held over with the third track unveiled from the Dublin quartet’s highly anticipated third record, out just around the corner on the 7th February. Following the huge “Your House” and the titular “Open Wide”, both of which equally primed to be a standout single – this new release solidifies their sound.
Speaking about the single, frontman Elijah Hewson admitted, “This is love song territory for me—about how, to be honest with someone else, you’ve got to be honest with yourself first. It’s like, ‘I’ve gotta sort my own shit out so I can be around other people.’ It’s also a soulmates thing. The choir really changed everything on this one.”
Produced by Grammy and Brit Award-winning Kid Harpoon (a central figure of Harry Style‘s last two seismic records), Open Wide’s 13-point tracklist promises to channel Inhaler’s usual earnest pop into something anthemic. While drawing from influences like T. Rex, MGMT, Depeche Mode, and Prince, the record is positioned as a natural progression from their first two albums, It Won’t Always Be Like This and Cuts & Bruises.
“A Question Of You” neatly coincides with the announcement of Inhaler’s largest Australian tour this June. Aussie audiences can catch them in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne.
