Falls Festival Victoria makes exciting location change as we edge closer to summer

Summer is on its way and who isn’t excited after a cold and wet winter!? And while we wait, Falls Festival has dropped some juicy news about its 2022/23 Victorian location.

After recently revealing their new Birregurra location, which was lovingly accepted by the local community and council, a small group has filed an application to VCAT over the festival’s permit. With the case to be seen in February/March next year, this means the location can’t be used until it’s settled.

Yet, there is no need to fear! Falls have announced Falls Downtown Melbourne. The festival is now going ahead at Sidney Myer Music Bowl and the surrounding area.

While the Birregurra location would have made a fine addition to the ongoing history of falls, we can always look forward to this locale for 2023/24.

With artists like Arctic Monkeys, Lil Nas X, Peggy Gou, CHVRCHES, Jamie xx headlining across VIC, NSW and WA, alongside Aussie power hitters (G Flip, Genesis Owusu, Ocean Alley & Spacey Jane, any morsel of news is much welcome, with the full line-up gracing two stages alongside Club Falls, Rancho Relaxo, Multi Bars, Food Trucks and more in the heart of Melbourne.

All Victorian ticket holders who can no longer attend the Melbourne event are welcome to apply for a full ticket refund from today until 5 pm AEDT Thursday the 13th of October. Alongside this, all camping tickets will be refunded from the 29th, which gives the Victorian Falls fans a little extra kitty for the festival!

If you still want the whole festival experience – camping and all! – Falls Byron is going to be the place for you, with a range of camping options. Camp with or without your car, or if having to set the tent up yourself is going to be too much work when you’re just looking to enjoy the vibes, Rent a Tent is available. For an even more stress-free experience, check out the Flash Camp, an exclusive glamping village with all the bells and whistles, including concierge services, luxe bathrooms and the luxury of a warm bed.

Settling back at the North Byron Parklands, we’ve been assured by the team that extensive works are being completed over the upcoming months to restore, and add additional drainage. Extra ground and roadworks are also being done to upgrade the venue for the summer event, meaning faster entry and quicker access to the party.

You can check the North Byron Parklands website for extra updates and details.

Meanwhile, WA is preparing for its own ripper Falls experience, with the recently announced Falls Downtown Fremantle moving from the Fremantle Arts Centre to Fremantle Park. The new location gives festival revellers more opportunities to be a part of new VIP experiences such as Club Falls or Falls Cabana.
