Exclusive Video Premiere: Bree Tranter “Tuesday Fresh Cuts” (Matt Corby remix) (2025)

Bree Tranter

Today, The AU Review is thrilled to premiere the video for Bree Tranter’s “Tuesday Fresh Cuts” — a dazzling reinvention of her breakthrough single, remixed by longtime collaborator and friend Matt Corby.

Ten years on from its original release, “Tuesday Fresh Cuts” finds new life as a kinetic, drum & bass-driven reimagining that honours the song’s emotional core while amplifying its rhythm and atmosphere. Working once again with Corby — who played bass on the original recording — Tranter transforms reflection into movement, nostalgia into euphoria.  I love that it opens up this song to new audiences and new environments.

“‘Tuesday Fresh Cuts’ has always been about growth, reflection, and the messy beauty of struggling with the inner thoughts of the mind,” Tranter shares. “When I wrote it in my mid-twenties, I was trying to figure myself out—pouring everything into music with my best friends, but still struggling to find happiness… Ten years on, the song still feels alive. It carries the voice of who I was, but also who I’ve become. This remix celebrates that journey and breathes new energy into it.”.

Working with director Jesse Davidson on Kaurna Land/Adelaide to capture the clip, Bree features as the video’s subject, her golden-orange hair contrasting magically with each scene in a sweeping montage of South Australian landscapes. The visual feels both grounded and dreamlike — a fitting companion to the remix’s sense of renewal and movement.

The track captures the spirit of growth and artistic evolution that has defined Tranter’s career, from her beginnings with The Middle East to her acclaimed solo work and film compositions. Corby’s remix draws that journey into sharper focus, fusing hypnotic textures with the unmistakable soul of Bree’s voice.

“For me, ‘Tuesday Fresh Cuts’ already had this emotional intensity to it, so I didn’t want to lose that,” says Corby. “I tried to reimagine it through the lens of the music Bree and I both love—something hypnotic, pulsing, and immersive, while keeping the soul of the original intact. The remix is about pushing that emotion into a new space, where people can feel it differently, maybe even on a dance floor.”

The result is a luminous, cinematic experience that pulses with both history and renewal — a decade-long creative circle completed in one stunning new form.

We don’t often take up the opportunities for premieres for remixes – but this one is special. Watch the official video for “Tuesday Fresh Cuts” (Matt Corby Remix) exclusively below.
