Exclusive Single Premiere: Riley Pearce “Golden Retriever” (2021)

Riley Pearce

Alt-folk singer-songwriter Riley Pearce, is about to release the third single, “Golden Retriever’ off his forthcoming EP, Love And All That Stuff. We are thrilled to have the premiere of this bouncy summery track ahead of its release this Friday. This track has a beat and a groove which sucks you in from the first few bars.

Pearce is a prolific artist, with his previous EP Maybe I Can Sleep It Off, only being released in September last year. Love And All That Stuff will be released on the 19th March 2021.

“Golden Retriever” is about wanting to be there for your special person during those less-exciting periods of your life. With a jaunty spring in his musical step, on this track, I doubt the less-exciting times are particularly boring with Riley Pearce.

He explains the motivation for the song. “Golden Retriever comes from wanting to be there for someone during all the boring moments life offers, the mundane shit that would normally fail to excite becomes the things we look forward to, the things I miss when I’m on tour, the things we make our own”

“Golden Retriever” follows on from his previous single, “All My Love”, which reflects on the joy of having a partner which brings out the best of you. His EP, Love and All That Stuff certainly appears to be well-named and will be released on 19th March 2021.

Pearce is a songwriter who has lived in many cities around the world, with family spread far and wide. His songwriting often reflects the challenges posted by times of isolation with regards to staying connected. As well as performing many sold-out shows, he has supported the likes of The Paper Kites, Lord Huron, Tash Sultana, Lifehouse and Lucy Rose. With sixty million streams to date and counting, Pearce is certainly making a splash.
