Exclusive Single Premiere: Parker Sounds “Tightrope” (2020)

Gold Coast rockers Parker Sounds are about to drop their latest single, “Tightrope” from their forthcoming debut album. With a sound which draws inspiration from influences such as The Killers, Jack Johnson and Pearl Jam “Tightrope” features some sweet vocals and harmonies, allowing the lyrics to resonate. Despite this being a song of angst, “Tightrope” has some lovely summery festival vibes about it. A cold tin, a hat with a wide brim, and a sashay of the hips and a big grin will take you there. The crystal clear vocals soar with some sweet guitar licks putting the full stop at the end of this cracking tune.

The band talks about the meaning of the song; “Tightrope is about the push and pull of a dysfunctional relationship. It’s the committed devotion two people share regardless of the built-up resentment and fighting that threatens to rip it apart at any moment. Knowing it’s over but not wanting to make the call, you know?”.

The band has been prolific this year, having already released singles “Something Heavy”, “Prison Cell”, and “Discoface”. They have even managed to get some gigs in, having sold out at Nightcap at Nobby’s Beach.

Their debut album is due out early next year, so that’s one to look forward to.

“Tightrope” will be released on all digital platforms tomorrow, 22nd October 2020.  In the meantime, enjoy our premiere ahead of its release.
