Releasing just his second single this week is Melbourne’s folk singer Joel Andrew B, with “Something Between You and I”, a passionate and intimate song that beautifully captures the flush of young love. We’re thrilled to be premiering it ahead of its release on Friday.
“Something Between You and I” is packed with emotion. Those all-consuming moments of youthful love are exquisitely captured in this rollercoaster of a tune. From the thrill of the chase to heartbreak, it has it all. His voice is tailor-made for indie folk – intimate, expansive and emotive. The instrumentation is exquisitely layered and finely textured. The guitars on this are really beautiful.
The single follows on from his debut release, “For Now, but Not Always”, which launched Joel as a solo artist in April. He has already performed solo at the Nannup Music Festival, and with his band, Sixth Avenue, has supported Ocean Alley and British India. It looks like a bright future lays ahead.
