Exclusive Single Premiere: Georgie Neilsen “The Last Time I Felt Better” (2022)

Georgie Neilsen

Brisbane-based singer-songwriter Georgie Neilsen returns this week with her rousing  swaggering new single “The Last Time I Felt Better”. We’re excited to bring you this exclusive first taste of the single before its official release on Friday.

“The Last Time I Felt Better” is a rousing and rich slice of indie pop. It all starts off quite unassumingly, with some soft vocals. But, it’s not long before Neilsen’s swagger is on show and she settles into her groove. With a big, bold chorus and a killer hook, Neilsen pulls the listener into the drama and intensity of it all.

According to Neilsen the single is derived from real experiences, and was written after the realisation that some things might not last forever, but also with a refusal to fully accept that fact:

“”Last Time I Felt Better” is about the emotions experienced when two people suddenly appear in each other’s lives and instantly fall into a euphoric romance fuelled by an addiction to that feeling… When the relationship quickly hits a fork in the road, there is a realisation that this flame might burn out and it consumes you with the desire to make that feeling last forever.”

It’s a captivating track, one we anticipate will sound fantastic live and at volume. And we won’t have too long to wait to hear it live either, with Neilsen launching the single at Brisbane’s The Bearded Lady on June 25th, with support from Meg Ripps and Menajerie. Tickets are available now.

“The Last Time I Felt Better” is out Friday June 17th. Pre-save the single HERE. You can keep up to date with Georgie via Facebook and Instagram.
