Melbourne may have been in lockdown for most of the year, but some epic music is emerging from that town. Newly formed conscious soul/roots band, Cinnamon Sun is a prime example. Today we have the exclusive premiere of “If You Call”, the debut release from this effortlessly cool group.
The frontman of Cinnamon Sun, Davy Simony oozes a comforting vibe. His vocals leave you sated and chilled. The rest of the band include Jimmy Harwood, Chaddy B, Harrison Brown and Hugo Lee. The group is a multi-skilled potpourri of talent, with its members able to switch between guitars, vocals, keyboards, percussion and saxophone.
From the first bars of “If You Call”, you are transported to a tropical island, long chilled drink in hand, with all worries lost. The healing power of music is exemplified in this super chill track. As well as having a chilled vibe, it carries the message of being thankful for what we’ve got. The track also features some classic vintage 80’s keys, and the saxophone solo is all class.
Whilst the band might be relatively new, the individual members have been on the scene for a while now, having been well established within the community. Collectively they’ve toured internationally, including America, Europe and Japan, as well as supporting the likes of Tash Sultana, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard and Daryl Braithwaite.
There is plenty of love in Australia for the chilled-out vibe. Look no further than the popularity of Ocean Alley. I can see some of the love which goes their way also being replicated onto the charms of Cinnamon Sun.
“If You Call” will be released on Friday, 4th December 2020. You can pre-save it HERE. In the meantime click play and enjoy our premiere.
