Indie-soul and RnB artist Benjamino has been rolling out the singles this year in the leadup to their debut album dropping in November. As prolific as he is talented, Benjamino is about to drop “Own Two Feet”, an empowering and thrilling ride that bids farewell to toxicity and warmly embraces positivity, and we are thrilled to be premiering it ahead of its release on Friday.
Kicking off with a quirky, muzak-inspired beat, “Own Two Feet” is a feel-good alt-R&B gem that seamlessly blends vintage vibes with modern soul. The track features cinematic bridges and sunny choruses, allowing Benjamino to flaunt their vocal prowess and effortlessly glide through a spectrum of emotions. It’s dramatic, theatrical and uplifting. The cherry on top is the solo by Donata Greco, an extraordinary Italian flautist, which adds a sparkling touch to the song.
The hardest part of standing on your own two feet is the beginning. Benjamino wrote the hook on the way to a gig, and reflecting on the tension and toxicity that was starting to take hold of their life, and the catharthsis felt from letting go, he explains: “In the span of a few months, I knew all about needing to stand on my own two feet!”. Here’s to taking control and moving unwards and upwards.
Benajamino’s debut album, Cucino, will be released on Friday, the 21st of November. As well as possessing their incredibly versatile vocals, he is an accomplished producer and engineer, and has also worked as a session musician for many top-tier artists over the past decade.
“Own Two Feet” will be released this Friday. Be sure to pre-save it HERE, and you can catch Benjamino at The Vault, in Port Kembla, supporting The Huneez on the 11th of October.
