Exclusive Live Video: Joe Mungovan performing “Taste of You” as he embarks on his A Flower In The Weeds tour

Joe Mungovan

Last November south-coast artist Joe Mungovan released his beautiful debut album A Flower in the Weeds. At the AU we crushed on the singles in the leadup to the album dropping, including the catchy “You + Me”, summery “Lemon + Lime” and the dreamy “Soaking Up the Sunshine”.

Joe is keen to tour this record. Very keen in fact. “After two long years of no touring I’m itching to hit the road with the band and play for a real life audience (and not just the cows in the back paddock near my house). We’re so stoked to bring the songs from “A Flower In The Weeds” to the stage… dust off your Sunday best ‘cos we’re coming for ya, Australia! xx Joe.”

One of my favourite tracks from A Flower In The Weeds is the rocking “Taste of You”. About this track, Joe wrote:Thom Yorke’s Anima had just been released and I love that album. I was playing around with some synth sounds attempting to channel Thom Yorke for the day. I feel as though “Taste Of You” is the segue between my last EP Another Night, A Distance From Here and this album.”

Joe has shared with the AU, an exclusive live performance of “Taste of You” featuring Joe with his full band. Watch this and you’ll understand why you’ve got to get down and see him live if he is in your neck of the woods.

The good news is that Joe Mungovan is touring Victoria and NSW from February through April. He will be in Melbourne at Penny’s Ballroom this Friday night. On this tour he will be performing with a full band, including drums, bass, keys, guitar and horns, and there are promises of a few surprises along the way. Check all dates below.
