Clea talks releasing new music over the summer, touring with a full band and more!

Clea has had one great 2016 so far. The Brisbane singer and songwriter has been drip-feeding new music to a growing fanbase around the country and as we approach the end of the year, she’s still got some surprises up her sleeve. At BIGSOUND this year, Clea sat down with Larry to chat about the opportunities the event provides musicians such as herself, writing with a band now in mind and of course, Stranger Things.

“It’s been interesting,” she says of her year in new music. “I’ve just been writing and in the process of recording an EP. I’d say EP probably early next year but the single, this year for sure. It’s a slow crawl, getting it done. I’ll come out when you least expect it.”

“It’s so much of an enjoyment to be up there with people, especially.” Clea mentions of writing for and performing with a live band. “Also to be able to write songs as a band, sometimes. That’s a new and very fresh outlet for me; it’s been really good, I feel like I can produce other things I wouldn’t just be able to with just my guitar. My songs, in a band context, are very strange because I’m just used to writing for myself; there’s weird rhythms and my band has been doing very good in having to adjust to these strange timings!”
