Briggs & Trials announce A.B. ORIGINAL project, release videos & debut tour dates!

This has been a collaboration we’ve been waiting to be officially announced for some time now, so the fact that Briggs and Trials have finally gone and dropped details of their A.B. ORIGINAL project…we couldn’t be more excited. The two hip hop wordsmiths and fire live performers first came up with the idea to come together and make some brilliant music after they were both invited to jump on stage for triple j’s ‘Beat the Drum’ event.

Fans will remember their set – confronting, brash and honest; including a performance of “The Hunt”, Briggs and Trials laid down the foundations for the creation of some exciting new material released under the A.B. ORIGINAL banner. In the spirit of the iconic N.W.A and West Side Connection, this new music is created to highlight issues pertinent to Indigenous communities, issues closer to home. Representing for the Yorta Yorta and Ngarrindjeri tribes respectively, Briggs and Trials have emerged as incredibly important and acclaimed two voices for not only Australian hip hop in recent years, but Indigenous hip hop too.

The duo have released three tracks already (head to Bad Apples to check them all out), featuring both Hau and Caiti Baker, and will be appearing at the South Australian leg of the Groovin’ the Moo festival (Oakbank), as well as supporting the Hoods on their national tour through April!

The debut A.B. ORIGINAL album is dropping through Golden Era Records and Bad Apples Music, the country’s first Indigenous hip hop label. You can catch the duo on a stage near you at the below dates!
