Adelaide's Horror My Friend sign with Poison City Records as they tour their new single "Stay In"

One of our favourite Adelaide groups, Horror My Friend, have announced they’ve signed with Poison City Records, who will release their long awaited debut album Stay In, Do Nothing, in January 2016. This is the Melbourne based label who bring us the likes of The Smith Street Band, Clowns & The Bennies – so the Adelaide group are in some pretty fine company.

The internationally acclaimed Melbourne based label signed the band after receiving an unsolicited email. Poison City boss Andy Hayden had this to say about the signing: “It’s rare that I end up working with a band from a simple email out of the blue, but from the first two tracks Horror My Friend sent through I was totally hooked! In their new songs I can hear a steady nod to the 90’s indie-rock classics, and there’s a youthfulness and sparkle that makes them relevant and exciting”.

The full length will serve as a follow up to their debut EP A Million Hands, which came out in 2014, and since then they’ve shared the stage with the likes of Violent Soho, DZ Deathrays, British India, Dune Rats, The Peep Tempel, Cosmic Psychos and Spiderbait to name but a few.

The news comes as Horror My Friend are touring their new single “Stay In”. The remaining dates of this brief run of shows are:

Aug 29th | Captain Cook Hotel, Sydney
Sept 3 | The Reverence, Melbourne
Sept 12 | Jive, Adelaide
