7 Sydney and Melbourne punk bands to play GONERFEST 20 in Memphis

GONERFEST, an annual punk-focused festival in Memphis, is set to celebrate its 20th anniversary with an explosive lineup of international bands, including seven of our very own Australian acts. Organized by the renowned Goner Records, a beloved record shop and label known for its dedication to punk and garage rock, GONERFEST has become a staple event in the underground music scene. The festival serves as a vibrant platform for both established and emerging punk acts to showcase their raw energy and electrifying performances.

The event is set to take place from Thursday, September 28th  through to Sunday, October 1st, in Memphis, Tennessee. Although the tickets are sold out for each day excluding Sunday, they will be hosting an online GONERFEST stream available to everyone. 

Australian acts performing at GONERFEST: 

GONERFEST will be host to a plethora of Australian acts, including:


Alien Nosejob, the Melbourne-based punk sensation, unleash a high-octane sonic assault of infectious melodies, blistering guitar riffs, and raw, snarling vocals.


CIVIC, the Melbourne-based punk powerhouse is characterised by their ferocious blend of raw power, gritty guitar riffs, and commanding vocals. 


C.O.F.F.I.N., the Sydney-based punk force, tether a torrent of sonic fury with their distinct brand of punk rock, thunderous rhythmns and unique vocals. 


Hailing from Sydney, 1-800-MIKEY’s music is a refreshing blend of punk-pop and garage pop, who is sure to bring an energetic and earnest performance at the festival. 


 The Sydney artist’s fusion of punk, lo-fi, and indie rock, is sure to get you moving with their irresistible hooks and dynamic flare. 


The Melbourne band is another act sure to get the crowd moving, with their signature groovy bass and distinctly Australian sound. 


The Melbourne based band, formely known as Thigh Master, feature more down tempo punk music, with elements of pop and hazy guitar synths. 



Set to be held in Railgarten, Memphis, TN from the 28th of September to the 1st of October, this year’s GONERFEST will be biggest yet.

Golden passes and single day tickets are sold out for shows Thursday – Saturday. However, the Sunday show is open to everyone for a cracking dance party!
