“You have to love yourself a fire.” Red Dead Redemption 2‘s new trailer is here

The Sons of Dutch are coming. Following their announcement of a trailer drop a few days ago, Rockstar have delivered a two-minute in-game trailer for the hotly anticipated Red Dead Redemption 2, the clearest and most interesting look at the game yet.

The trailer gives players a closer look at Arthur Morgan and the Van Der Linde gang, the protagonists of the new title, the world they live in and the people they’ll be running up against. It also confirms loud and clear that Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel to the original Red Dead Redemption. While RDR was set in 1911, years after the frontier era had ended, Red Dead Redemption 2 is set in 1899, the period in which the remnant of the Old West drew its last ragged breaths.

Keep your eye out at 1:41 and you might even see a character that looks suspiciously like Red Dead Redemption‘s original protagonist John Marston, his face stitched up and held at gunpoint. Time’s gonna tell on that one.

Red Dead Redemption 2 launches October 24, 2018 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
