You can grab Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysey for free on Steam right now

If you’re one of many Australian gamers on Steam, you can grab yourself a free copy of Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee right now, but only for today.

This, importantly, is not the HD remake released last year, Oddworld: New ‘n’ Tasty, but the original game released back in 1997. It’s free to download until September 24, 10am (US Pacific Time) and will be yours to keep after the freebie period ends.

Abe’s Oddysee originally released on PSOne and PC some eighteen years ago. A side-scrolling platformer, the game has you play as Abe, a slave worker trying to escape the clutches of the evil Molluck the Glukkon who is trying to turn Abe and his people, the Mudokons, into food products.

You’ll also get Abe’s Oddysee for free if you pick up the remake, New ‘n’ Tasty, which is currently going for 50% off. Check it out right here.
