Stephen Colbert’s musical guest last night was a 54-piece orchestra playing a Legend of Zelda medley

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert appears to be very keen on spotlighting events in video game culture as much as film, tv and music. Last night’s episode featured The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses, a 54-piece orchestra, as the show’s musical guest and you can check out their amazing medley after the jump.

Symphony of the Goddesses were promoting the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes on 3DS which drops October 23. The Late Show performance is a brand new suite from the game. I dare you not to tear up a little when they move into Zelda’s Lullaby.

The symphony is touring North America at present, part of the “Master Quest” series of multimedia shows built around the Zelda franchise, but it appears to be hopping all over the world with dates in Europe dotted throughout their schedule.

Depressingly, there are no Australian dates in sight at this point but hopefully that changes in the near future. If Nintendo brought this thing to PAX  Aus 2016, they’d bring the house down.
