Put in for annual leave now: God of War launches on April 20

The all-new, all-different God of War is coming to PS4 in just a few short months.

Developed by PlayStation in-house developer Santa Monica Studios, God of War presents a very different Kratos to the gruff, combo-building brawler most players are familiar with. The new game sees Kratos tending to a young son, living a much more low-key life away from all the god-battling and hydra-slaying.

Naturally, it can’t last. Just when he thought he was out, they pull him back in, and before long Kratos is  back to battling the towering enemies he seemed to have put behind him. You can check out the brand new trailer accompanying the news below, but be aware that this trailer is absolutely packed with spoilers so if you want to go in fresh, give it a miss.

You can find out more about the launch (and the special editions which may or may not interest you) over at the official PlayStation blog.

God of War is a PlayStation 4 exclusive. It drops on April 20.
