Lego Marvel’s Avengers needed to find a way to differentiate itself from not only its predecessor, Lego Marvel Super Heroes, but every other Lego game to date. If the game’s latest trailer is any indication, TT Games have found their in.
The trailer (which you can check out above) shows off the game’s many open-world environments, many of which pulled directly from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a first for the series.
Locations include Tony Stark’s Malibu home from the Iron Man films, Svartalfheim from Thor: The Dark World and South Africa and Civil War-sparking, Accords-triggering city of Sokovia levels from this year’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. The showstopper has to be the seemingly to-scale replication of New York City, complete with Avengers Tower, which dwarfs all the other environments on show.
The trailer also includes a wealth of characters pulled from every part of the Marvel Comics universe with The Wasp appearing front and center, Jessica Jones in her Jewel-era costume and I’m pretty sure I even saw Skaar, son of the Hulk, in there.
Lego Marvel’s Avengers releases January 27 , 2016 on just about every platform there is.
