Grand Theft Auto 6 has been delayed to May 2026

It’s the news we all feared; Grand Theft Auto 6 has been delayed to May 26, 2026.

Rockstar Games broke the news via social media, with the official statement below:

While it was originally due in the last quarter of 2025, after what seems like months of speculation, this news does seem to hit harder than we all anticipated. Unfortunately, delays can happen due to several reasons, but it’s also hard to deny that a rocky launch does leave gamers and fans alike with a bad taste in their mouth.

Sure, games like Cyberpunk 2077 have faced the music and returned to form after several months, but that’s not always the case. I guess the remaining games coming out in 2025 can breathe a sigh of relief and start announcing their release dates.

GTA 6 is certainly one of the most anticipated games of all time, and while we were aware it would drop within that 2025-2026 financial year, we’re still technically on track to have it in our hands within that window.
