Gamescom 2015: Xbox 360 Games With Gold titles now Xbox One backwards compatible

Microsoft have used their press conference at Gamescom 2015 in Cologne, Germany to announce that any Xbox 360 games included in their Games With Gold promotion will be backwards compatible on Xbox One.

The announcement means that Xbox One owners will now get four free games every month – two games native to Xbox One and two for the Xbox 360 – as a bonus to their annual Xbox Live Gold membership.

Backwards compatibility will be made available to Xbox One owners officially this November. Games produced by Microsoft Studios will all be backwards compatible, along with a litany of third-party publishers including Bandai Namco, Bethesda, Deep Silver, Disney, Majesco, EA, Sega, Square Enix, 2K, Capcom, Ubisoft, Koei Tecmo, Codemasters and Warner Bros. Interactive.
