The ABIAs were founded to celebrate the very best in Australian literature, publishing, and bookselling. Selected by over 200 industry professionals, this longlist will be narrowed down by a judging panel and a shortlist will be announced on April 12th. After last year’s exclusively online event, the main awards night is set to return (COVID-19 allowing, of course) and will take place on April 28th.

For the first time, a limited number of public tickets will be available for the finale, hosted at Sydney’s Carriageworks. If you’re keen to (safely) rub shoulders with some of the Aussie book world’s best and brightest, you can sign up for updates HERE.

For everyone else, the event will be live-streamed in association with Sydney Writers’ Festival. You can relive all the glamour and excitement of last year’s event on YouTube to get you in the mood!
