It must be the season of the witch for Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman in the full-length trailer for Practical Magic 2

Nearly three decades after becoming one of cinema’s most beloved cult classics, the Owens sisters are finally back.

Warner Bros. has unveiled the first full-length trailer for Practical Magic 2, reuniting Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman as Sally and Gillian Owens for a long-awaited return to the enchanting world of family curses, forbidden love, and witchcraft. The sequel arrives 28 years after the original film cast its spell on audiences and quickly established itself as a generational favourite.

The new trailer wastes little time reminding us why we fell in love with the Owens family in the first place. Set once again against a backdrop of moonlit magic, candlelit rituals, and whispered legends, Sally and Gillian find themselves facing a powerful new threat tied to the curse that has haunted their bloodline for generations. As old secrets resurface and dark forces gather, the sisters must unite with a new generation of Owens women to protect their family before everything they know unravels.

While nostalgia flows through every frame, Practical Magic 2 appears determined to expand its mythology. Joey King and Maisie Williams join the family as Sally’s daughters, with Lee Pace stepping into the story as a mysterious figure whose arrival threatens to change everything. Returning fan favourites Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing are also back as the delightfully eccentric Aunt Jet and Aunt Franny, ensuring that the sequel retains the warmth and humour that made the original so enduring.

Directed by Susanne Bier and based on Alice Hoffman‘s The Book of Magic, the sequel promises a larger, more ambitious story while keeping its heart firmly rooted in the themes of sisterhood, family, and love that defined the original.

If the trailer is any indication, this isn’t simply a nostalgia play. It’s a genuine continuation of the Owens legacy, one that looks poised to enchant longtime devotees and newcomers alike when Practical Magic 2 arrives in Australian theatres on September 10th, 2026. And if there was ever a time to dust off the spell books and pour a midnight margarita, it would be now.
