Trailer for Idiotka unveils high-fashion chaos and reality TV satire

A brand-new trailer has dropped for Idiotka, a sharp and irreverent fashion comedy that skewers reality TV culture while keeping its heart firmly in the right place. The film, written and directed by Nastasya Popov, will hit select theaters in the United States from February 27th, 2026, via Utopia Distribution

Led by Anna Baryshnikov as Margarita, the story follows a disgraced fashion designer with a dangerously low credit score who enters a high-stakes reality competition offering a six-figure cash prize – all in a desperate bid to save her babushka’s West Hollywood apartment. But as the show ramps up, slick producer Nicol (Camila Mendes) pressures her to turn her family’s struggle into spectacle, forcing Margarita to decide whether she’ll play the game or reclaim the narrative on her own terms.

The film boasts a vibrant supporting cast including Owen Thiele, Benito Skinner, Saweetie, and Julia Fox, with Popov’s satirical edge promising a wild mix of celebrity skewering, heartfelt family stakes, and chaotic high-fashion energy.

Ahead of its theatrical release, Utopia Distribution will host a New York premiere screening on February 5th at the Crown Hill Theatre, followed by a Q&A with the cast. Doors open at 7:00pm and the event offers tiered ticket options, including general admission access to the screening, Q&A, and afterparty, plus VIP upgrades featuring premium seating and collectible extras. Tickets can be purchased here.

With its mix of sharp satire, bold styling, and crowd-pleasing chaos, Idiotka looks ready to deliver a hilariously unhinged take on fame, fashion, and who gets to tell the story.
