In the immortal words of Jennifer Love Hewitt, “What are you waiting for?”
Well, it’s not the latest trailer for I Know What You Did Last Summer, as the Jennifer Kaytin Robinson-directed slasher legacy sequel dropped its brand new visuals ahead of the film’s release this July.
Hewitt and fellow series subsister Freddie Prinze Jr. are back on board as Julie James and Ray Bronson in the long-awaited continuation, which sees their Southport survivors sought out by a group of five friends who ask for guidance on how to navigate their killer secret when a mysterious hooded figure starts stalking them a year on from a car accident, in which they inadvertently killed someone, and their subsequent cover-up.
Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah Hauer-King, Tyriq Withers and Sarah Pidgeon are our ill-fated group of friends, with Billy Campbell, Gabriette, Austin Nichols and Nicholas Alexander Chavez also starring – but maybe not surviving – in the sequel that looks to be embracing all the best parts of the original films, but giving them a much bloodier rinse through the wash.
Summer is a sinister season this year when I Know What You Did Last Summer arrives exclusively in Australian theatres from July 17th, 2025, before opening in the United States on July 18th.
