This was just posted on the ATP website. Please note this information is subject to change, but given it's direct from the website, we're pretty certain this is legit. We have been waiting and hoping and praying for ATP to return to Australia ever since Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds curated the first ever Australian ATP in 2009. And now, finally, All Tomorrow's Parties is set to return with a massive two day event in Melbourne next February entitled "I'll Be Your Mirror" - one day curated by ATP, the other by Melbourne's own The Drones.
Here is how each day is currently looking with much more to be confirmed:
Saturday February 16th curated by ATP
my bloody valentine (first Australian tour since 1992)
Godspeed You! Black Emperor (first ever Australian tour)
The Dead C
Thee Oh Sees
+ more to be confirmed
Sunday February 17th curated by The Drones
Beasts Of Bourbon (reformed original line-up)
Cam Butler & The Shadows Of Love
+ more to be confirmed
Date: The festival takes place on two days - Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th February, 2013. The event starts at midday on Saturday and Sunday until late with around 30 acts set to play live across the weekend.
Location: Another unique aspect of ATP’s I’ll Be Your Mirror is the location, offering both indoor and outdoor space just a stones throw from the CBD. The Westgate Entertainment Centre and Grand Star Receptions - two venues in one complex in Altona - just 13km away from the centre of Melbourne. There will be two stages, a cinema, art exhibition and an amazing food court.
Tickets: Tickets are priced at $250 (+ booking fee) for a two day pass or $135 (+ booking fee) for a single day pass and go on sale this Monday at 9am from www.atpfestival.com
Transport: There will be a shuttle bus operating from Newport Station to the venue during festival opening hours. You can catch a train to Newport Station from Flinders Street, Southern Cross, North Melbourne, South Kensington, Footscray, Seddon, Yarraville, Spotswood and Williamstown. We will be running buses from the CBD you can pre-book closer to the event and there is also limited on-site parking available at the venue. A taxi for 4 people from the CBD will cost around $35 - $40, $38 from St Kilda and around $42 from Fitzroy.
