Canadian Music Week is proud to present the nominees for the 11th Annual Independent Music Awards, “The Indies”. Presented in association with Astral Radio and XM Satellite Radio, the awards will be handed out on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the legendary Canadian Ballroom in the Fairmont Royal York Hotel, Toronto, as part of Canadian Music Fest.

When we started this list, we mentioned that there were a few surprises along the way - this is no doubt thanks to the fact that we're counting down tracks, not singles, that were released in 2010 in any form.

What surprised even us, however, that the number one spot would not go to a single, but rather a favourite track off an album that came in at number one on our recent "Albums of 2010" countdown. But before we get there, let's start in with number 10 ...

After years of planning and in response to demand in the region, St Jerome's Laneway Festival makes its Asian debut this summer in Singapore on Saturday January 29.  Featuring some of the most hotly anticipated acts from the Australian and New Zealand legs, plus Laneway alumni and Australia's most successful music export of the past few years The Temper Trap, the inaugural event is set to be one of the most anticipated festivals to hit the region.

Following on from the success of platinum selling and globally adored album Conditions, The Temper Trap will release Conditions – Remixed on 5 November on Liberation Music.
