Legendary Irish singer/songwriter Luka Bloom has just announced he is returning to Australian shores in early 2016.Showcasing his brand new album, Frugalisto, Bloom returns for his 12th Australian tour since 1992.
Of the upcoming trip, Bloom is incredibly keen, noting the connection he’s maintained with our country and how it’s been felt on the record.
“Australia is the country where the new record will be first released, and I am thrilled about that. The song “Frugalisto” was inspired by an amazing group of young men and women who live near me in the West of Ireland. They are people with two particular passions in life. They are surfers, but more importantly, they are actively devoted to sustainable lives, working with the earth, without destroying her. Many of the songs on this record are inspired by the people where I live. And one of the songs is called “Australia”. It is a simple love song to a country that means so much to me; a place I have missed this past three years. I can’t wait to sing my new songs in Australia. And am thrilled that the first tour in my calendar for 2016, is Australia.”
