Joe Bonamassa announces five-date Australian tour

Blues-rock guitarist extraordinaire Joe Bonamassa has announced an Australian tour in September, just months after playing as part of this year’s Bluesfest in Byron Bay. The prolific musician will also perform for the very first time at the Sydney Opera House in addition to shows in Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Melbourne. The tour will mark the first opportunity for Australian fans to experience tracks from his new album Blues of Desperation, which was only just released while Bluesfest was in full swing.

The man who kicked his live career off opening for the legendary B.B King at the age of 12 has chiseled out a reputation as one of the hardest working touring artists of our time, performing an average of 100 shows a year and remaining a favourite at festivals around the world, including Eric Clapton’s Cross Roads Festival and Montreal Jazz Festival.

Throughout the course of his 27 year career, Joe has released 20 solo albums – 12 studio and 8 live – and has been involved in 20 side project releases, with a long list of collaborations with fellow music legends. There’s obviously not going to be any lack of material to choose from here, and coupled with his new work, these sets are shaping up to be unmissable for any music aficionado
