Fanny Lumsden has just released her debut album, Small Town Big Shot, as her single, ‘Soapbox’ rapidly climbs the Country Musical Channel charts. A glorious, warm and varied alt-country album by rural Australia’s very own Fanny Lumsden, Small Town Big Shot is a hugely impressive debut that brims with Fanny’s vivacious personality and an abundance of talent. From the get-go Fanny Lumsden and her band The Thrillseekers’ music (and on stage presence) had something special with their vibrant country spirit – from their cowboy boot toe-tapping tunes to upbeat tales that only a born and bred farm girl could tell.

Spectrum Now announces free music program for their Spectrum Playground Hub in Sydney's The Domain

The current Spectrum Now is in full swing with the recent launch of their free outdoor hub Spectrum Playground, a potent mix of food, music, film, and culture. While concepts from the likes of Messina, LP's Quality Meats, and Newtown burger gods Mary's are holding it down the food side in The Nosh Pit, the city-wide festival has announced a huge music program of local artists set to take the stage at The Domain over the next week, including Deep Sea Arcade, Richard In Your Mind, Jack Carty, and Cabins.

Wednesday night at Tone, this was exactly what took place when New York based Daniel Merriweather took to the stage for an intimate, acoustic, naturally sold out performance, in front of a couple of hundred fans.
