Zoe Kazan and Jenny Slate were asked what they were wearing at a SXSW Q&A and their response was perfect

Jenny Slate and Zoe Kazan were on-hand at the premiere of their latest film My Blind Brother at SXSW, along with co-star Nick Kroll, who all formed part of a panel to answer questions after a screening at the Topfer Theatre in Austin. The audience Q&A that followed didn’t quite start the way anyone expected though, throwing the spotlight to a young woman who first told Slate and Kazan that she loved their fashion before asking what brands they were wearing.

“So glad that you watched the movie and took away so much”, Kazan responded. “That’s a really important artistic question”. Slate also joined in on shutting the question down with the perfect slice of sarcasm that also largely speaks to the casual objectification women are still exposed to in these industries: “women love to be asked more about their clothes than their work. We’re dolls. We made a wish to become alive”.

Kroll broke up the slight tension by stepping in with “this is Old Navy, top to bottom”, to which the crowd erupted with laughter. “If anyone has a chance, Old Navy has a great deal on double-breasted cashmere sweater blazers. You gotta get over there!”.
