World of Warcraft’s Demon Hunter class comes to life in epic cosplay

Hollywood blacksmith Tony Swatton, creator of props and weapons from titles such as The Hunger Games, Thor, Sucker Punch and Alice in Wonderland, created an epic costume for Blizzard Entertainment to bring to life their newest World of Warcraft class, the Demon Hunter.

Demon Hunters are dark warriors, shunned by the greater night elf society. Long ago they made a pact to fight against the forces of chaos. The warriors will ritually blind themselves in order to develop ‘spectral sight’ that allows them to see myriad forms of magic.

Alonside SFX makeup artist Steve Winsett, and Costume Designer Concetta Verna, Tony Swatton spent 250 hours bringing to life the World of Warcraft’s brand new shadowy warrior class, sewing, moulding and gem cutting to create the hyper-realistic cosplay.

The epic cosplay was showcased at Gamescom last month, worn by Blizzard 3D Artist, Jessica Dru Johnson, who assisted in the projects creation.
